I’m pretty sure the first time I heard Abby Diamond sing was from a late night Facebook session. Of course, if I remember correctly.
At the time, I was listening to one of those Spotify mixes that had serendipitously ended right as I scrolled to one of her most recent live videos in my FB feed. “Love to Watch You Leave” was the track and instantaneously distracted by the wavy-spacey intro, and her sultry vocals. I was taken back with the whole song. Of course, after hearing that, I needed more.
I took a few trips through most of her Youtube videos, and even though her stellar cover of “Feel Like Making Love to You” was on point, I kept her original “Love to Watch You Leave” on straight repeat. I was fortunate enough to sit down and chat with Abby a few months ago, walk around Maple St. to snap a few photos, and talk about music and life. I found her to be just as enigmatic in person.
